Sindyanna of Galilee

Established in 1996, Sindyanna of Galilee is a unique non-profit olive oil producer located in the Galilee region in Northern Israel. Our staff consists of Arab and Jewish women who share a vision of peaceful coexistence, working side by side with skill, care, and a passion for the craft.

Sindyanna’s goal is to produce premium quality food products while promoting Fair Trade, enhancing Arab-Jewish cooperation, creating economic opportunities for Arab women, and assisting local growers and producers. Our extra virgin olive oils reflect our personal commitment, and have received numerous international awards attesting to their quality and flavor.

Our olives are cultivated in groves nestled amid the hills and valleys of the Galilee, where “liquid gold” has been produced for thousands of years. Within hours of harvesting, they are cold pressed and stored in air-tight churns to capture their fresh flavor and aroma. Our warehouse and factory are located in the Arab village of Kfar Kanna (Cana), a few miles north of Nazareth. According to the New Testament, it was here that Jesus performed his first public miracle - the turning of water into wine (John 2:1-11).

Sindyanna is the only Fair Trade olive oil producer in Israel that operates among the country’s Arab population, combining sustainable cultivation with modern techniques. In cooperation with other local organizations, we have reclaimed derelict lands and transformed them into Israel’s first flourishing Jewish-Arab organic and regular olive groves. Yet, the fruits of our groves go beyond olive oil; these fruits include trust-building cooperation between Arabs and Jews, as well as a passion for the environment.

We are strong advocates for the use of new cultivars which are more climate-resistant, generate more produce, and are better adapted to the requirements of commercial markets. Sindyanna invests resources in raising awareness and educating Arab farmers and consumers regarding the advantages of the high quality olive cultivars and their impact, alongside modern techniques and tools, on the olive oil industry and on individual household consumption.

Having established Sindyanna's reputation in Europe and Asia over the past few years, we are now expanding our product line in North America. For instance, our olive oil has recently become available at the Whole Foods Market in the Northeastern US.
